There are three main poker weapons in poker tournaments:
When you have a large amount of chips in a tournament, more than anyone else, you have the power to knock other players out, so other players should be wary of you rather than risk getting knocked out of the tournament.
Having a position against a player can often win the pot with a smaller hand or hand with aggressive play. But if your opponent has a large chip stack, position may be less important, as your opponent may not be afraid to call your BET, RAISE or RERAISE and go all the way to SHOWDOWN.
With good cards, a player who has a large chip stack should not be scary.
The conclusion is: Chips beat Position. Position beats Cards. Cards beat Chips.
