No winning poker player would probably do without aggressive play. Aggressive play in poker means winning strategy. Aggressive play means that you need to use a variety of bet-raising - BET, bet-breaking - 3-BET and other poker weapons. This style of play is advantageous because you can win a poker pot in two ways: you can win the pot when the opponent FOLDs, or you can win the pot in SHOWDOWN. And if you just CHECK and CALL, you lose your chance to win the pot the first way, when your opponent FOLDs.
Ways to Play Poker Aggressively
A VALUE BET is a value bet where you believe you have a better hand or hand than your opponent's hand or hand. Tip: Bet big when you have a hand against players who CALL very often.
Use the rule in poker: if all the players have folded before you, and you are the first to bet into the pot, you almost always raise.
Use BET, 3-BET, 4-BET and so on.
Just like pre-flop, you should play aggressively after the flop, so use a continuation bet - C-BET or CONTINUATION BET. When you raise before the flop and continue the bet after the flop. This is, by the way, one of the main weapons in poker after the flop.
DONK BET - when you bet first on the flop, turn or river. Even though your opponent was aggressive in the previous round and bet before that.
CHECK/RAISE - when you CHECK/RAISE in the next round. Even though your opponent was aggressive and bet in the previous round.
However, aggression may not always be useful, so use it correctly, in certain situations and against certain players for certain types of bets. Just remember that aggressive play wins the pot in two ways: when your opponent FOLDs and when you are in SHOWDOWN. That's the main advantage of aggressive play.
