As we already know from the last article, there are six main categories into which poker players can be divided: Tight Passive, Loose Passive, Tight Aggressive, Loose Aggressive, Maniacs, Solid. So how do you play against a player once you have identified his type ?
If you decide that a player is Tight Passive. If a player is in this group, he probably plays very few hands and rarely plays aggressively, so you should play a lot of hands and aggressively against him, but when he does CALL, or in rare cases BET, RAISE or RERAISE, know that he probably has a very strong hand or combination, so beware. Loose Aggressive strategy is good against this player.
If you decide that a player is Loose Aggressive. If a player is in this group, he probably plays a lot of hands, makes a lot of CALLs and rarely plays aggressively, and when he does play aggressively, he probably has a strong hand or combination, so beware. Tight Aggressive strategy is good against this player.
If you decide that a player is a Maniac. If a player is in this group, he probably plays a lot of hands and is very aggressive. Against this player, you need to get a medium to strong hand or combination and play passive CHECK/CALL, because he will pay anyway by playing a super aggressive style.
If you decide that a player is Tight Aggressive. If a player is in this group, he probably plays very few hands and when he does, he plays aggressively. Against this player you should play a lot of hands and be aggressive, and when he is aggressive, watch out, because he is likely to have a strong hand or combination. The Loose Aggressive strategy is appropriate against this player.
If you decide that a player is Loose Aggressive. If a player is in this group, he probably plays a lot of hands, and when he plays, he plays aggressively. Therefore, you should trap this player with CHECK/RAISE, CHECK/CALL, etc. when he has a strong hand or combination.
If you decide that a player is Solid. If a player is in this group, you need to have very good poker skills, see your opponent's strengths and weaknesses, and develop and adapt your own strategy against them during the game.
